This robin was not amused at me taking his/her photo. Still looks angry after that first shot:
Robins. This morning I was out along on the primary road in Quabbin Reservoir and there were robins everywhere. Also many turkeys with the toms puffed up and eager to make eggs. Well, they care less about the product than the procedure. Spring, when so many organisms are obsessed with genetic continuity.

Nice! Same here - birds are chirping like crazy, nests are being built... Life finds a way.

Followup. I'm just finishing lunch after M & I returned from our AM walk. It may not be the first day they've been out, but it's the first time I've seen the painted turtles enjoying the sun, maybe 12-15 of them. It was worth the walk just to see them warming up atop several half-submerged branches.

Here's a couple of turtles, first this Box Turtle was in our yard trying to dig a nest, then it turned a little cold, it spent one day half buried where it had been digging, then here is appears to just be sleeping in the grass. Once it warmed up it moved on, I'm not sure if we have a nest in the yard or not.

I think this may be a Red-bellied Cooter with a dragonfly on top

I've seen quite a few of these Yellow-bellied Sliders

We drove by a parking lot drainage pond a couple days ago where there must have been at least 30 basking turtles, couldn't tell the species.

Crow - very wary birds. I have found them difficult subjects. This one was way off there. 600mm Nikon lens on MFT camera, and cropped, to give you an idea of the distance.

Back in the day, we grew tomatoes, snow peas and blueberries on that patch. Then they showed up.
