Just another eagle pic. This one on a bluff about 8 or 9 stories up and my boat is about 20 metres off the cliff (in over 100' of water, incidentally!) KP + 55-300PLM. Direct crop down to 1203x799, so this is full resolution.

So I went back to Florida Lake in thehope that the Black Heron would still be there- I was going in to deliver something in the area. This time round I was armed with the Sigma 170-500mm and some trees, the latter came in very useful for this skittish bird that flies off at any approach. Some of the folk at the lake thought I was crazy, going to and fro, following the bird, unitl I hit on the idea of using the trees to shield me from view.

I could watch it for hours as it constantly and very fast, made its canopy, in the hope that frogs or fish would seek shelter in that shadow it created. It did not catch anything while I was watching it. but the fact that it was still there means that the palce is a good source of food.
