Went out after lunch yesterday to grab a few foliage images while the sky was blue and the sun shining (heavy overcast today, with brief sprinkles turning to heavy rain and blustery winds tonight, all of which will knock down many if not most of the Autumn leaves). As I walked this osprey landed in a tree just ahead of me, and conveniently stayed until I put on a longer lens (Pan-Leica 50~200mm). Grabbed several images before another walker came along and spooked the bird away.

Oh, great capture! Too bad about the twigs, but what can you do? What a handsome bird!

Excellent wildlife image. I find the eyes on these creatures so fascinating. Many thanks for the treat.

A tom & hen turkey strolling along the roadside out in the Quabbin Reservoir area yesterday. You'd think so close to Thanksgiving they'd make themselves scarce, but no hunting is allowed in the Quabbin.

I never realized, until these images, how much their faces resemble vultures.

They are less than fair of face, but when the sun catches their body feathers they shine with lovely warm copper & bronze colors

Good camo, this time of year! Didn't Benjamin Franklin suggest they should be our national bird?
