Otto Classen was an artist known for his desert landscapes and portraits.


Elmer Berger was an inventor responsible for getting rear-view mirrors installed in automobiles.


Jules Roth was the general manager of Hollywood Forever, when it was known as Hollywood Cemetery. Poor management almost killed the cemetery.

Known as LaWanda Page, Alberta's most famous acting role was as Aunt Esther in the 1970s TV sitcom Sanford and Son which starred her longtime friend Redd Foxx. She also was in Amen, Martin, 227, Family Matters, and Diff'rent Strokes.


Sunshine Sammy was a child actor and the only black member of the East Side Kids. He was also an original Our Gang kid, sidekick to Harold Lloyd and Snub Pollard, a vaudeville dancer, and band leader.


Aaron Walker was a critically-acclaimed blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He was the first musician recorded playing blues with the electric guitar. Rolling Stone ranked him at #47 on their list of the 100 greatest guitarists.

Gary Crosby was a singer and actor. He may have become better known for writing a revealing memoir of his father, entertainment legend Bing Crosby.


Lamont Bentley was an actor and rapper. He was known for his role as Hakeem Campbell on Moesha and the series' spin-off The Parkers, and played Tupac Shakur in Too Legit: The MC Hammer Story.


Maria Palmer acted in Mission to Moscow, Days of Glory, Lady on a Train, The Web, Strictly Dishonorable, and Outcasts of the City. She turned to radio, TV and commercials, formed her own production company, and hosted a TV show.

Selig Seligman was a TV producer, most famous for Combat starring Vic Morrow and Rick Jason, and the movies Charly and Hell in the Pacific.


Stan Winston won Oscars for make-up and special effects in Aliens, Terminator 2, Jurassic Park, and Batman Returns. He was nominated for Heartbeeps, Predator, Edward Scissorhands, The Lost World and A.I.


Louis Nye was an actor and comedian, most famous from appearances on The Steve Allen Show. "I still think of myself as an actor. In the radio days, I was busy playing rotten Nazis, rich uncles and emotional juveniles - the whole span - and the only time I tried to be funny was at parties."

Arthur Taylor Lee was the frontman, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist of the Los Angeles rock band Love, best known for the critically acclaimed 1967 album, Forever Changes.


Stan Levey was drummer with Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker, and later a professional photographer.


Maxine Elliott started her career at age 5. She acted in 200 films, and was on TV's All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Rhoda, Growing Pains and Frasier.

Lilli Palmer was a German actress who followed one-time husband-actor Rex Harrison to England. She was in Cloak and Dagger, Body and Soul, and won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress in 1953 for The Four Poster.


Reba Churchill and her sister, Bonnie, became co-editors of Silver Screen and Screenland magazines, and later began a series of newspaper columns and Hollywood-oriented radio broadcasts.

Irving Allen was a producer and director. He won an oscar 1948 for the short movie Climbing the Matterhorn, and was responsible for Dean Martin's Matt Helm series, The Silencers, Murderers' Row, The Ambushers, and The Wrecking Crew.


Helen Cohn was a costume designer, and nicknamed "Bobbie Nudie" by her husband, Nudie Cohn. They designed glittery suits and costumes from the 1940-1980s for Elvis, Roy Rogers, Hank Williams and Buck Owens.


David Melvin English, known by the stage name Melvin Franklin, was the bass singer with the Motown group The Temptations from 1960 to 1994.

Rodd Redwing was a Native American actor noted for being the world’s greatest quick-draw artist with six-guns, and was one of the top gun, knife, tomahawk, and whip instructors in Hollywood for many big-name actors.


Snowy Baker was an athlete and actor. Baker boxed in the 1908 Olympics. Besides the usual acting roles, he performed stunts in 1944's National Velvet.


Edwin Carewe was an actor, director, producer and screenwriter. He discovered Dolores Del Rio, Warner Baxter, Wallace Beery, Francis X. Bushman and Gary Cooper.

Dennis James is credited as the host of the first network TV game show, and he hosted Chance of a Lifetime, The Price Is Right, Name That Tune, High Finance, and Lets Make a Deal.


Lionel Lindon directed movies from the 40's thru 70's and TV's McHale's Navy and The Munsters.


Wally Brown was an actor and comedian. He was a regular cast member in I Married Joan, Cimarron City, and Daniel Boone on TV, and the Abbott and Costello radio show.

Harry Jolson was the older brother of singer Al Jolson, and the brothers had a Vaudeville act together for several years. Harry was Al's manager for a time.


William Loadvine was Executive Director of Advancement at USC's Keck School of Medicine, and an auto racing enthusiast.


Al Onsgard was a US champion swimmer and lifeguard, and Air Force pilot.

Mickey Thompson won many off-road championships, formed SCORE International and Mickey Thompson Entertainment Group. He also raced dragsters and land speed record automobiles.


Dorothy Abbott was a showgirl in Las Vegas before acting in the 1940s thru 1960s. She was on Leave It To Beaver, and played Sergeant Friday's girlfriend on Dragnet. She committed suicide over the divorce from actor Rudy Diaz.


Actor Tim Carey was known as an eccentric on and off-screen. He played one of the three soldiers executed in Paths of Glory, among other roles.

Pete Rozelle was the Commissioner of the National Football League from 1960-89, and is largely responsible for the stadium-filling attraction it is today.


Maria Goeppert-Mayer was a German-born American theoretical physicist, and Nobel laureate in Physics for proposing the shell model of the nucleus.


Joseph Coors was the grandson of brewer Adolph Coors and president of Coors Brewing Company. Cheers.

Ralph Meeker had lead roles on Broadway but was mostly a supporting character in movies, including his role as the conniving corporal in Stanley Kubrick's Paths of Glory.


Harry Barris was a singer and songwriter. He was a member of the Rhythm Boys which included Al Rinker and Bing Crosby. Barris appeared in 57 films, and was the uncle of game show host and producer Chuck Barris.


Pete Candoli was an American swing and West Coast jazz trumpeter. He played with the big bands of Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, and many others, and worked extensively in the studios of the recording and TV industries.

Ray Teal acted as Sheriff Roy Coffee on Bonanza. His films include The Best Years of Our Lives, Inherit the Wind, Judgment at Nuremberg and Chisum.


Johnny Desmond was a popular singer from 1939 to the 50s. He was a member of Glenn Miller's Armed Forces Orchestra. On Broadway he performed in Say Darling with David Wayne, Vivian Blaine and Robert Morse and in Funny Girl with Barbra Streisand.
