Virginia Carroll was a department store model, then acted in Roberta, A Tenderfoot Goes West, Silent Witness, G.I. Brides, and Violent Saturday. TV included Fireside Theatre, The Roy Rogers Show, Dragnet and Perry Mason.


Reginald Gardiner acted in Hitchcock's 1926 The Lodger, Christmas In Connecticut, Clune Brown, Halls of Montezuma, Ain't Misbehavin', Burke's Law, The Phyllis Diller Show, Batman and The Monkees.


Tutti Camarata was a trumpet player for bands such as Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman and others. He became the lead trumpet and arranger for Jimmy Dorsey. He later was Music Director for Disneyland Records.

Fred Sherman had 124 acting roles, including Adventures of Superman, the Mickey Rooney Show, the Roy Rogers Show, The Lineup, Wyatt Earp, Sugarfoot, Lassie, and The Rifleman.


Charles Jarrott directed The Other Side of Midnite, Mary Queen of Scots, and Anne of a Thousand Days which earned him a Golden Globe.


Michael Clarke Duncan acted in Armageddon, The Whole Nine Yards, The Scorpion King, Daredevil, and most famously in The Green Mile. Hopefully he will be marked soon.

Russell Hicks started acting in 1915's Birth of A Nation, then later Charlie Chan in Shanghai, The Woman in Red, Flame of Barbary Coast, and Once Upon a Honeymoon.


Richard Yarmy was the brother of Get Smart actor Don Adams, and acted in Get Smart, Mork and Mindy, Laverne and Shirley, Emergency, The Kentucky Fried Movie, A Guide for the Married Woman, Carpool, and Movers and Shakers.

Eleanor Audley acted as Eunice Douglas on TVs Green Acres. She provided the voice for Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty and Lady Tremaine in Cinderella.


André Baruch was a film narrator, radio announcer, news commentator, talk show host, DJ and sportscaster. He was in the wrong line while applying as a pianist and was hired on the spot - as an announcer.


Sidney Clute was an actor in TV's Lou Grant, and Cagney and Lacey, where he remained in the opening credits and had script references to him for 3 years after his death.

Grant Holcomb began his career as a performer on radio drama programs. He was then on CBS TV, best known as a reporter on the 1950s TV series You Are There hosted by Walter Cronkite.


Born locally in San Bernardino, he appeared in the 1961 film X-15 and on the TV documentary series Eyewitness to History.


Marilyn Lois Johnson acted in two dozen 1940's-era movies. Her last film role was in 1951's Two Tickets to Broadway. She appeared with husband Forrest Tucker on I Love Lucy in 1955.

Frank Freas was an artist of bomber nose art in WWII, Mad Magazine, Astounding Science Fiction, hundreds of books and magazines, Queen's album News of the World, and the Skylab 1 insignia. Nominated 20 times, winning 10 Hugos Awards.


Adele Jergins was "Miss World's Fairest" at the 1939 World's Fair, and a Rockette named the Number One Showgirl in NY City. Acting included Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man. Married to Glenn 'The Amazing Colossal Man' Langan.


Montie Montana was a rodeo trick rider, actor, stuntman, and cowboy now in the Pro Rodeo HOF. He was in 60 Rose Parades. He (and horse) was a contestant on You Bet Your Life.

Shirley Hardman was a top Roller Derby queen with 3 teams, leading the LA Thunderbirds to a championship in 1971. Accidentally drowned :-(


Richard Reeves was a character actor in Adventures of Superman, I Love Lucy, Maverick, I Dream of Jeannie, Wagon Train, Untouchables, Burke's Law, Batman, and Man From UNCLE.

David Reese was a pro poker player and gambler. He had a great time visiting in Las Vegas and essentially never left. Legend has it he called in to quit his day job, and had someone clean out his apartment and drive his car to LV.


Rudi Maugeri was a 1950s doo-wop singer with his group The Crew Cuts. Their cover of Sh-Boom was No. 1 in 1954, and a cover of Earth Angel hit No. 3 a year later. He later was a DJ, then owner of a wellness clinic.


Mary Kaye was a guitarist and performer, active in the 1950-60s. She was descended from Queen Liliuokalani, Hawaii's last reigning monarch. She is credited as one of the founders of the Las Vegas "lounge" phenomenon.

He later managed a talent agency.


Charles Schulz created the 'Peanuts' comic strip.


He was born a few miles away in Santa Rosa, now home to the Charles Schulz museum.

William Walker acted as Reverend Sykes in To Kill a Mockingbird, and appeared in The Killers, The Far Horizons, The Big Knife and Hush...Hush... Sweet Charlotte. Peggy Cartwright was in the first 6 of the Our Gang series, and the last survivor. She was married to Bill for 30 years, making them one of the first Hollywood inter-racial couples.


Salvador Lopez, as Alberto Morin, acted in Casablanca, Gone With the Wind, Key Largo, The Asphalt Jungle, Chisum and The Milagro Beanfield War.


Will "Dub" Jones was an R&B/doo-wop singer with The Cadets, The Jacks, and then with The Coasters, replacing Bobby Nunn and Leon Hughes.

Clara Horton started acting in silent movies at age 8 in The Homecoming, and played Becky Thatcher in 2 Tom Sawyer movies. She appeared in 88 films including Bengal Tiger (1936) and her last, Time to Kill (1942).


Charles McMurtry played college football locally, and as a defensive tackle in the NFL with Buffalo and Oakland. After 4 pro years, he retired to pursue other interests.


Dave MacDonald was a road racer with 47 victories and 69 top 3 finishes. He died after fiery crash in the 1964 Indy 500. This crash led directly to the change from gasoline to methanol fuel.

Ivie Anderson was a jazz singer, best-known for her performances with Duke Ellington's orchestra. She also appeared in Day at the Races and Hit Parade of 1937.


Hattie McDaniel was the first black person to earn an oscar, for her supporting role in Gone With The Wind. She wanted to be buried at Hollywood Forever, but that cemetery did not allow blacks at the time. Under new management, HoFo said they would take her, but her family did not want to move her.


Caroline Seymour Severence was a social reformer, suffragist and abolishionist. In 1911, she became the first woman to register to vote in California at the age of 91.

Redd Foxx was a comedian before acting on Sanford and Son. Ironically, Fred Sanford often faked a heart attack (I'm comin' to join ya, 'Lizabeth!), but Redd actually had one on the set and died shortly after.



Ron Gaylord was a singer and songwriter with The Gaylords. Ron had 10 top-10 records including Tell Me You're Mine, From the Vine Came the Grape, and The Little Shoemaker.


Joe Williams was a baritone, and sang a mixture of blues, ballads, popular songs and jazz standards, including with the Count Basie Orchestra. He is actually inside the private columbarium behind the bench.

Edward 'Kid' Ory was trombonist famous for his 'tailgate' style of supporting other instruments. From New Orleans, he moved to LA in the 20's and led the first black group on the west coast to record New Orleans jazz.


James Gleason co-wrote the oscar-winning The Broadway Melody, co-wrote and appeared in Change of Heart, acted in A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, and was oscar-nominated for his supporting role in Here Comes Mr. Jordan.


Gene Lockhart was an actor, singer, playwright, and wrote lyrics to a number of popular songs. Oscar nominated for his supporting role in Algiers, and played the judge in Miracle on 34th Street. Father of actress June Lockhart.
