Russell Hopton was an actor, most memorable in 1931's Street Scene as the murdered bill collector. He later committed suicide when supporting roles dried up (usually going to similar-looking and familiar actor Charles Bickford).


Paul Kelly was an actor from age 7 in 1912. Possibly most famous for killing actor Ray Raymond and subsequently marrying Ray's wife after a 2-year prison term.


Edwin Shipstad co-founded Shipstad and Johnsons Ice Follies, a traveling ice show featuring elaborate production numbers.

Barry Levin earned a Purple Heart in Vietnam, worked on the LA police force, and was a lawyer who represented Erik Menendez and Robert Blake. He suffered from cancer and shot himself in the cemetery.


Spencer Williams is best known for playing Amos in the TV comedy Amos and Andy, and directed and co-starred in 1941's Blood of Jesus. At one time he was General Pershing's bugler.

Wyott Ordung is probably best known as B.B.-Eyes in the Dick Tracy TV series in 1950-51. Other film roles include Fixed Bayonets!, Dragon's Gold, and Walk The Street. He also was a writer, director, and producer.


Sydney O. Kimmelman was the famous astrologer, Sydney Omarr.


Tommy Bond was the mean kid Butch in the Our Gang comedies. After his child acting career Tommy went behind the camera into local TV directing, and managed the props on TV's Laugh-In.

Walt Hazzard played on the 1964 UCLA championship team, won a basketball gold medal at Tokyo, played in the NBA for 10 years, and coached college teams, including a UCLA championship in 1987.


Nguyen Cao Ky was elected prime minister of South Vietnam in 1965, and Vice President from 1967-71. When Saigon fell to the North Vietnamese in 1975 he and his family fled to the US.


Norman Sellers was a wife-beater, and was killed by his wife after threatening to kill her child from a previous marriage. She served 20 years in prison before being paroled.

Al Lapin co-founded International House of Pancakes - IHOP. The company acquired Orange Julius, Love's BBQ, Copper Penny and other businesses, though Al declared bankruptcy in 1989.


Kurt Katch acted in Yiddish theater then in films, usually as sinister characters. Films include Secret Agent of Japan, Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves, and The Mummy's Curse.

Jolly John Larkin was vaudeville's "Rajah of Mirth" and "Funniest Colored Comedian in the World". He headed the Dandy Dixie Minstrels in the 1920s.


His last film role was in the Great Ziegfeld. This note is from a relative, who visited while on business from Australia.


Emile Vache and his brother started a winery business in Redlands, now known as Brookside Winery.

Rufe Davis acted in about 30 westerns, and played Fred Smoot, the conductor, on TV's Petticoat Junction.


Teru Shimada acted in Night Club Lady, Mr. Moto's Last Warning, as the SPECTRE agent Mr. Osato in You Only Live Twice, and as the Japanese general in King Rat.


June Lang started in vaudeville, and theater chorus lines as young as age 13. Her promising film career in the 30's abruptly ended after getting bad press when she married a Chicago mobster.

Edward Mann was a cartoonist for his strip Blade Winter. He was a co-founder of Circle in the Square Theater in NY, and directed several films including Hot Pants Holiday, and Hooch.


Eduardo Cansino Jr was uncredited in 5 acting roles, and was the younger brother of Rita Hayworth.


Vernon Cansino was in 6 films, with credit in Madonna of the Desert, and Song of My Heart. He was the brother of Rita Hayworth.

Walter Rothwell was an orchestra conductor, hired by LA Philharmonic founder William Clark. Walter started the Philharmonics' Symphonies For Youth, and was the music director until his death.


Frank Jaquet was a short and fat character actor appearing in War Is a Racket, Stanley and Livingston, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. The Lone Ranger, Corregidor, Ace in the Hole, and (now very thin) on I Love Lucy.


Max Whittier started with the Union Pacific railroad, then went into oil drilling. Much of his land holdings became Beverly Hills, and other parcels were donated for orphanages.

Richard Arlen was an RAF pilot in WWI, an oil field worker, then an extra in films. His first notable film was Vengeance of the Deep (1923), and he appeared in Wings. He took time out of his career to teach pilots in WWII.


Emmaline Henry started out to be a singer, but ended up acting, notable as Amanda Bellows, wife of Dr. Bellows on I Dream of Jeannie. She appeared on The Farmer's Daughter, The Munsters and Petticoat Junction.


Gilda Gray was an actress and dancer who popularized a dance called the "shimmy" which became fashionable in 1920s films and theater productions.

Anthony Angarola was evidently an actor, though I could not find any information about him.


Cheerio Meredith, originally Lucile Hoffman, acted on stage, movies and notably TVs The Ozzie and Harriet Show, The Andy Griffith Show, and One Happy Family.


Jim Healy started on radio sports out of college, and eventually had his own show, complete with sound effects, repetitive sound-bites, and his trade-mark line "Is...it...true?"

Kelly Thordsen usually played sheriffs or judges. He appeared on just about all TV Western shows, such as Laramie, Bonanza, The Rifleman, and Little House on the Prairie.


Leo Damiani played violin in the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, and organized the Burbank Symphony Orchestra in 1944 and the Burbank Youth Symphony in 1948. He helped get the Starlight Amphitheater in Burbank built.


Laura Ellen Harris was a violinist, and played other istruments while touring the world with "all girl" swing bands in the 1930s and 1940s.

Robin Stille is best known for her role in the slasher thriller film Slumber Party Massacre. She was also in Winner Takes All, Vampire Knights, Sorority Babes In The Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama, American Ninja 4, and an episode of Jake And The Fatman.


Eric Wright, as Easy-E, formed gansta rap group Niggaz With Attitude (NWA). He died from AIDS after a life of unprotected sex which resulted in 7 children by 6 women.


George Courtney, as Curley Bradley, began as a stunt man, then as a voice actor on Tom Mix, The Ranch Boys, and Don McNeil's Breakfast Club, and acted in In Old Monterey and Cavalcade of America.

Harry Love was a Ranger believed to have killed and beheaded the bandito Joaquin Murietta in 1858. He later ran a lumber mill, and is credited with building the first road to Felton.

Tiburcio Vasquez was either a western bandito or hero. He hid out from the gringo for many years, including among triangular sandstone outcrops now known as Vasquez Rocks, famously used as film and TV locations.

Harry Fowler was a cinematographer on 30 films through the silent era, including The Freeze-Out, The Unknown, Shadows of the North, and Dark Skies.


David Avadon was an illusionist whose trademark became picking pockets of guests onstage. He was a technical advisor on movies regarding picking pockets, trained policemen to spot it, and wrote a book about it.


Charles Beyer started as a talent agent in 1920, representing W.C. Fields, Lowell Sherman, May Robson, Richard Dix and Victor McLaglen. He also acted in silents, sometimes as Charles Byer.
