Oh man Dave - what a great shot!
Thanks, Stan! We do let him out on the porch from time to time (but always under supervision--there's one corner where he can escape down the drainpipe.) Otherwise, he has to do his birdwatching through the window.

Took the mutts down to Big Bear Creek to cool off one day. They weren't going to pose for me, so this was one of the better shots out of about a dozen or so...

Hanging out with the dogs in the golden hour, tried to get a photo of them while they ran into the shadow. The brown and tan was giving them a real run for their money, they'd just both caught up to her!

Sort of interesting, I seem to be getting slightly weird colour balance on these photos, and everything was a bit "bland" for lack of a better word. I think it's probably just the lighting. K3, 18-135 kit lens. Wondering if any of you have suggestions to what I could be doing differently.

Took one with an older f1.4 50mm pentax SMC-F lens near the end. More "grey", bland light. Touched up some in post process, this was totally in the shade.

We don't have any dogs who don't like canoe trips.

K-3 with 18-135 and a few Optio W90 images.

Ready to head out. The pups are hanging close, no one wants to be forgotten. Open a car door and suddenly the car is full of dogs. Unfortunately they hop into friend's cars instead of ours on occasion.

Hanging around the campsite.

Tess went for a solo paddle with her camera. The dogs ran along the shoreline barking until she stopped and let them into the boat.

Time for some water play.

Well, Tia is certainly grown and all your pups are engaging and well captured in the images. In my experience, lake canoeing with dogs is okay. I could always whap a butt with the paddle before they capsized us. Rivers with fast water? No way. My dogs always got too excited. Disaster followed. But then, one must consider the bonehead behavior of Labrador retrievers when they spy a duck in the river eddy.

Thanks!

Now this one was born feral and has no interest in returning to the great outdoors:

I was fortunate enough to get a 77/1.8 limited recently I've only used it briefly but so far I'm pretty happy

I also decided take the Tele-Tak 400/5.6 out for a spin, a really great lens but a bit of a pain to use so it's mostly a shelf queen

I heard what I figured was a cat fight outside last night and went to investigate. I was just in time to see a fox disappearing into the night with our poor little Lucy in it's mouth. I hope she didn't suffer long.
