Wa have a kiddie pool for our dogs. The grackles think it's for them. On a hot day the dogs go in as soon as we get back from the walk.

Ha! We have one just like it... our honey bees are always in it too.

Hey Paul. This was on a hike with my folks and their neighbors. This was my neighbors dog, she came along and got into all kinds of mischief. She was chewing contently on a stick or something while briefly laying down.

It's easy to read too much into an animal's face, but Popsicle looks like one happy-go-lucky dog, immensely pleased with life.

While sometimes a photo misleads, in this case your assessment is correct! She's a lovely dog, and super lovey. If we didn't have two of our own already, I'd consider keeping her! She brings a lot of joy.

Good to know. Just her picture lifts my spirits. Knowing that she really is so happy means she will find a loving home and make some family happy through her infectious personality. It's all very positive.

Our forest is in February -20 snowshoe mode. We can't take the dogs out for too long, it's too hard on their feet.

Tripper and Misty waiting for the slow guy.

I would think unpacked snow wouldn't be to bad. But still...
I played a pick up hockey game at -20f -40 wind chill and our breath was ice crystals. So beautiful.

Don't be too macho about playing when the temp is very cold. If you've never read "The Cruelest Miles" about the Alaskan serum run that inspired the Iditarod Race, some of the dogs that were relieved mid-way had run so hard at such a low temp that the cold had frozen some of their lung tissue which, when it began to thaw, caused profuse bleeding which meant those dogs perished for their effort. Balto is famous, although he was not the most heroic dog on the run (that honor belongs to Togo), and certainly he did not give up his life in the effort. Extreme cold can be dangerous for your extremely thin, delicate respiratory epithelium.
