Yep, that is f/8 or maybe f/11...focus on the snow and wati for her to walk into the zone. Kinda nice to go back to the old days without AF/C

At agility trials, going to MF and prefocusing where you know a dog will go greatly increases the % of keepers, or for me, reasonably acceptable results. But at indoor meets, the light is so poor even an ISO of 12,500 with the lens @ f2.8 won't give a shutter speed that prevents blur, and DOF is so shallow the dog will go through too fast. BTW: this is not our dog clearing a jump. TF of 1/1250 stopped the motion pretty well in this image, but the high ISO makes for a lot of texture, and the dog's face has come to the near side of the plane of focus.

Skiing with Luna today. Snowpack is pretty good for her now as it has firmed up. Earlier in the winter it was too deep and soft for her for a while. There's our house.
