One of the competitors at an agility trial the past Sunday. Blue eyes always give a dog a startling face.

Nice looking kitty. I associate blue-eyed dogs with huskies in particular, and in some aussies and Shelties, especially those with the coat-color variety called "blue merle*". But every now and then there's a dog like the one pictured whose blue eyes are just mesmerizing. I find myself staring and struggling to look away.

*"merle" refers to a coat color pattern in dogs that appears in a limited number of breeds including Aussies & Shelties. Dogs with a merle coat may or may not have blue eyes. SFAIK Huskies have blue eyes routinely regardless of coat color.

To quote Snoopy when he first laid eyes on the cat next door, being carried by the girl next door: "They finally developed a boneless cat."
