Hi Pentaxians!

Since I am a Pentaxian five days only, my first pictures are still "Made by Nikon":

I am posting my two beasts: Border Collie Voko and his cat Zuzana

I saw from another thread that "Your Pet A Day" doesn't have to be my own pet? Anyway I'll start with mine,

This is Yoshi's 1st shot when he came to us abt 3months old sometime 11th Sept 07.

Welcome Zee, Peter. Peter, that's one fantastic moment there. Great to have you with us.

Zee, Great looking pup; Fantastic shot. Great focus on the eye, thru snout, up to the forward edge of the ears... not that you need me to say. Then that quick transition into the OOF. That lens has really pleasing bokeh. Which 50mm was that?

I started the thread w/that thought of "your pet" -- hoping to keep quality up, thinking/worrying perhaps there would be a bunch of 'arbitrary' shots posted by folks of any old animal that entered their viewfinder -- but in retrospect it was a mistake to say that... heck, I'll edit the 1st post & remove that statement all together. There have been plenty of folks who've set precedent & posted fantastic shots here who don't have their own pet; some of my favorite photogs on this board that I have great respect for as a matter of fact. So ya, the precedent has been set, rightfully so.

Here is a quick snap I was able to get when our friend's baby girl had sat down with our beagle. She love both of our dogs and they let her poke, prod, grab and pull on them without any problems.

Our lab Max is large and strong enough to drag some of the younger kids in the neighborhood around our yard as well... though I have yet to capture that in an image.

Helix on the sandhills (his poor little eyes kept getting full of sand because it was so windy, but he still had a blast!)

Kira on the sandhills too!

doggy on the back deck

Here's another one of my chocolate lab that I like (her name is Justice). I was playing around with my very small flash (Pentax AF220T), bouncing it off an index card taped to the back. I was just experiementing while grilling up some chicken for dinner and not trying for a nice formal doggy portrait, hence the lovely tarp in the background.

Wow they do look a lot alike! Labs are great dogs aren't they? Right now mine is trying to push my hands off the keyboard so I'll pet her instead of type.

My English Bully

First time I've posted in this thread. Here are a few of my English Bulldog "Spike". He is 4 years old and 80 pounds. Quite a character too. These are not as sharp as they should as I was working pretty fast against the late afternoon sun through the trees and trying to get the other dogs too. Yeah, we have seven of them

I hate that the first one was not in good focus, as I thought it was a good pose he made for me.

Pentax K20D with DA 50-200mm kit lens.

Right after taking a swim in the pool..

Fred, I meant to say this long ago... one of my favorites!

Zee, that may be the best one yet.

CJ, you're out-doing yourself. That wide-angle from the sky to composition is a real winner.

Brian, wow... Seven! We should be seeing a lot of you... I hope!
