Annabelle is starting to act like an older cat (she's about 14) = she takes sleeping very seriously.

Now THAT'S a happy dog.

She's exploring a fire-road at the intersection with the Appalachian Trail near Skyland - seems to be nearly recovered from her surgery on the back legs, and smelling all sorts of animals, each of which has to be tracked - she didn't know which way to turn. (In the middle of the largest black-bear population on the East Coast.) She had a great time trying, though.

My cat is getting a bit exasperated at getting all these random lenses stuck in his face. The Vivitar/Kino 28mm F2

Tralee, posing as the NOBLE SHELTIE, and smiling because she expects a treat for doing it.

From today's walk... they are all there but Misty who's at the groomers. You just have to look for them.

K-3 and DFA 100 macro

It's so great to see all these guys having fun. Awesome thread.

Tralee down in some tall greenery. She's on a boardwalk that crosses a shallow marshy area at the side of a stream. Some years, probably including this year, this boardwalk can become so difficult to see that it's dangerous, lest you step off accidentally, and some of the plants are capable of snagging an ankle and tripping you.

You'll have to take a machette with you next time.
To uncover the boardwalk

Just a thought

This is the bridge over the stream, with a ramp when approached from this side.
Tralee atop the bridge in a view looking back toward the ramp which Tralee enjoys scampering up, M in the distance.
At the other end there is a very steep staircase, which Tralee doesn't like. She's willing to go down it, but must be carried up when returning. The boardwalk is still partially visible below. By mid/late summer it can be completely covered by the adjacent vegetation.

Nice shots from a nice location! Hopefully fleas and ticks aren't hiding in that tall grass....

Grasshopper stalker:
Discovered a tick on my back last night when preparing to shower, but I probably picked it up elsewhere. Relatively low density of skin neural receptors on your back, so I didn't notice the little nasty for some time, probably 20 hours, but hard to know where it was all that time, it might have been on my clothing. Second time I've taken prophylactic antibiotic so far this year. The first tick was on the backside of my knee.
