Discovered a tick on my back last night when preparing to shower, but I probably picked it up elsewhere. Relatively low density of skin neural receptors on your back, so I didn't notice the little nasty for some time, probably 20 hours, but hard to know where it was all that time, it might have been on my clothing. Second time I've taken prophylactic antibiotic so far this year. The first tick was on the backside of my knee.
Ugh, I hate those little bastards! We found one recently in the car that I think came in on Luna but no (known) bites for any of us yet this year. Trying to keep it that way!

Enjoying these summer evening walks.

As always, Luna looks like a dog filled with the joy of just being alive, and savoring every waking moment and place in that wonderful country in Colorado.

That's a Tralee-but way at the far end of this little bridge. She seems like a happy girl.

Thanks. As long as she is getting adequate exercise and attention she is pretty happy.
Unless a stranger comes to the door! She gets pretty alarmed about things like that sometimes and we have to talk her down and try to incentivize staying calm. A work in progress...

Tralee looks pretty happy much of the time too.

Tralee, from the first day we got her as a tiny puppy, has always been a little touch shy especially to being petted atop her head. She is also still a bit furtive and deferential, quick to get up from a lying position to get out of the way when someone approaches. I've wondered if she had been the runt of the litter. Her siblings had already been adopted, and she was very small, almost small enough to hold in my cupped hands. She works hard to get bigger, using every opportunity to earn another treat.

Luna was the runt as well. Also doesn't like unsolicited pats on her head or back. Maybe it's a runt thing. Out on our wild walks she forgets about all those stresses.

Daisy - 5yo Schnoodle (Schnauzer x Poodle). Rescued at 2yo, was very fat at the time. Now far less fat (though the eagle-eyed amongst you could perhaps spot a stomach peeping through?) and feisty. Most cats are taller than her.
