Nothing stops us from losing them. My sister gave me 40 balls, old ones she'd used (she still plays). We ran out of them and had to buy a box of 16 cans (three balls per can), 2 cans are already gone. We get a lot of them back in the spring.
They are the same balls I used when I played, ordinary tennis balls. They hold up better than dog toys. The dogs chew on them from time to time. They'll break up those dog toy balls in less than a half hour. A proper tennis ball will last for weeks, if you don't lose it in the snow. There's nothing sadder than my Tripper, so desperate to play he finds a half ball somewhere and tries to get me to throw it. We don't care to find out what would happen if we ever ran out. My little dog would be throughly depressed until we got more.
