Normally this time of year, Arizona gets hit with frequent, unpredictable, and violent dust storms and flooding downpours. I always look forward to the excitement, but for the last two years, it just didn't happen. Last year we nearly doubled the record for the number of days over 110°, with absolutely no rain to break up the summer. People started to call it the "nonsoon" season.
I've been hoping this year would not be more of the same, and my hopes have not been in vain! It just rained for two days straight, and we got enough summer rain to make puddles for the first time in three years. The dogs were delighted.
Real rainwater is so much better than warm sprinkler muck.
