Speaking of clouds... we had a whole lot this week, with heavy rain in places all around (but of course not right here). It was mostly cooler here than at my parents' place in Oregon, and they still don't have air conditioning. But we have to have something to complain about, so it's the humidity now. We're not used to it.

It was back to sunshine this morning, though. Muggy sunshine.

Guarding the mud hole.

I love watching the dogs play in the mud. Especially other people's dogs.

Good day for a longer focal length.

Muddy dogs...does the park offer any sort of rinse-the-mud contrivance? I'm shuddering to think of everyone's car on the way home! (not having a dog and never visiting a dog park, I'm ignorant of the amenities, so to speak )

There's a spigot at one end that works like those public restroom sinks, where pressing a button gets you about ten seconds of water before it shuts off again. A kind fellow park-user brought in a short hose, too, to make things easier. Most of the dogs who enjoy the mud also enjoy getting washed off.

I, personally, don't have to worry about the car, at least. I live only a mile away, so we walk to the park. If I have to wash Tasi off, she's halfway dry by the time we get home.

That's a relief to know! Definitely enjoying the rinse, I can see that! Thanks for educating me. Cats, OTOH, hate mud, and fuss about it a lot during rainy season here. I've not tried to rinse any of them, but I have used towels (mainly paper) to wipe several of them down if they're very wet and muddy. They mostly stay in a dry spot until it's reasonably OK to come out, shaking paws and complaining the whole time.

Annabelle was out sleeping on the deck when a little shower came over, the kind with big noisy drops. Annie seemed to think that she could escape by moving to a different spot on the deck, so she ran to this side, then that, up on the table used when doing a BBQ, along the top of the railing to a little platform that's hooked onto it, then back along the railing to the BBQ table, and dash for the pet door which is under the eaves, and there she paused (not pawsed) and sat down, realizing the rain was not hitting her. Then she stalked along close to the sunroom, keeping under the eaves, and finally made a quick dash to get under the sunroom, I presume because going under the deck would still have exposed her to dripping water coming down between the boards. Amusing spectacle.

I bet it was! That's funny! Our inside kitties don't go outside, ever, so they may have residual memory of rain and wet from their outdoor days (they're all rescues). But the outside gang do get rained on sometimes. They all have dry spots and shelter in our yard and the neighbor's yard. I've seen several of them sitting in the rain, though...not a downpour, but a drizzle. Odd, that, but I've seen several do it. Then they shake it off and get to shelter, eventually.

Must confess I've never seen a major-league home run celebrated that way. Maybe they should.
