Unconventional Portrait

Well this portrait is unconventional to say the least. It is quite creepy, yet somewhat funny at the same time; not to mention it is a picture of another forum member

See--that just confirms my suspicions about the kind of people I'm dealing with here.

Keep Your Eyes On The Road

This is a bit over the top, but it was one of the first images I captured with the DA35 f/2.8 Macro Limited while I was still getting used to its capabilities. However, it was interesting enough that I thought I would share.

Thanks for the comments, ekim89 and dadipentak!

I have to say that I am very pleased with this lens. I borrowed a friends 31mm Limited for a few days before deciding on this purchase and have to say that everything you read about the DA35 Macro Limited is true:

- Bokeh is not as “dreamy” as the 31, but REALLY close.
- Close focusing for macro can be awkward at times. I spend far more time on my knees or laying on the ground to get just what I am after. Live view on the K-5 is very helpful for this.
- The lens is not as tack-sharp for landscape work as other lenses, but nobody is going to be disappointed with the photographs.
- The colors and detail this thing captures are astounding. So many times I have zoomed way in on some image I have captured and thought, “Wow! How on earth did it see that?!”
- It is REALLY, REALLY, REALLY (and I DO mean REALLY) nice to have the capability of the 35 PLUS the macro whenever I need it. VERY versatile. I’m now pretty much just carrying this lens plus my DA*16-50 (although the DA*50-135 is never too far away either).

Thanks again for the comments!

Steven
