Indeed, it is. I have a friend who wouldn't use his copy to take pictures of his baby girl, saying that it didn't focus close enough. While it's not a macro, I find the Sigma 30 focuses plenty close for baby shots. It wasn't a great shot, but I did one where I was holding Gus in my left hand and the camera in my right. Let me see if I can dig it up.

I did not take these, my father did in 1961, of my sister, on Kodachrome and with a Praktica IV. I know he had trouble with focus, but I think the pictures now over half a century old still are worth seeing.

I'm generally not a fan of selective desaturation and just sort of stumbled into this but I rather like it--I guess because it's picking up bits of red from a variety of objects.
