Dave, that's quite impressive at ISO 10000, you can still see detail in the hair and WB is nice... and DO NOT drop that lens

Cheers :-)

And thank you dadipentak

It was the k-5 and the FA31 wide open at f1.8 with the ISO at 800.

Thanks, Rick. I'm not really satisfied with the WB, though--she looks a bit too orange. Did I mention that it was hand-held? Thanks for the tip about not dropping it

Original Poster
So I haven't had a whole lot of time to use my F50 f1.7 yet during the day, but I did use it this past weekend at night. Even at ISO 1600, I thought these shots came out okay. I was also playing around with the whole TV and movie cropping idea in the last 2 images.

Ignore the goofiness, he was just pretending not to know anything about laser safety because we are in a class called Lasers and Applications. He was not shining it in his eye nor was he trying to do so. But he is another forum member... (Tatertot444)

x-posted to the pet thread, this shot reminds me of a formal portrait. It is Earl Grey on top of a bookcase, sort of a captive subject since I am blocking his escape route!
