The M50 and M100 Macros will not be here by tomorrow so I have to choose a different lens if I truly want a "Single in August". Hmmm.......

K45-125 - MF, no macro, and its sharp, sharp, sharp across the range.

Quantaray 28-90 Macro - fast AF, does macro at 90mm, has good colors, and is a nice lens that gets no respect around the internet because its a no-name brand (but its really a rebagged Sigma).

Which one to choose?
Aiai, that's a hard choice! A no-namer is always good in a Single Challenge, because I've seen several of them perform very good during previous challenges. Iris showed us the capabilities of the Takumar 28-80 for instance..... (yes, the only so-so coated K-mount lens....). But I would like to know how the K-zoom performs too....

So, I think it's up to you, eh?

Yes, I'm just bummed because I really wanted to use either the M50 or M100 Macro and put it through its paces. Ah well, can't change what is so I'll sleep on it and pick tomorrow. Looking forward to shooting every day with 1 lens. This should be challenging for me. Thanks.

I had one of those once. Sold it about a year ago and never actually used it. I would be interested in seeing what it can do...

I'll keep that in mind for tomorrow. I took it out for a spin today with the children at the pool. Fun. But, I am afraid I might be lazy and go with the rebagged Sigma in Quantaray clothing as its got a wicked fast AF on it.

Count me in for the challenge! I will use my 40mm limited lens as it is a very fun lens to use and that will motivate me to go out and shoot at least a shot everyday.

Welcome! Any questions about posting pics, just ask!

@Jack
First post I see. Did you get the Tokina straightened out?

Looks like lots of new folks are joining this month while I am still dithering about which lens to use!

The lens is ok today, with my K-r, but doesn't seem to like my K-7, so beats me!

Thank you all for your warm welcome! I've just posted my first photo and now I'm wondering what will be my second... I guess I will just bring my camera at the office and go wander the fabulous streets of Montreal during my lunch hour in search of some street photography opportunities!

I am going to have to change lenses. I took the Sears 135mm Macro out yesterday for a test run. It's not going to work. This lens isn't like the one I had many years ago, or what I remember about mine isn't like this one. So for the challenge I'm going with my Sigma 70-300mm instead. I haven't used it much since getting the Samyang 100-500mm. Just wanted you all to know so you wouldn't yell at me when I post photos, that I had the wrong lens on the camera.

Just kidding of course, PL. Do what works for you. It's a game so keep it fun.
