Don't know how I wound up with a ladybug int he house, it's mid winter and freezing...probably hitched a ride on some firewood...but I did some tinkering. Got this shot with a Pentax 50mm f1.7 and 45mm of extension tubes, with flash at f11. First time I've been able to get the crosshatch pattern of the eyes to show up on a ladybug...
Then decided to pull out the Lentar 135mm M42 and some extension tubes...200mm of them...and a tripod...cropped at the same size, 1600x1200, then resized to 1024x768, sharpened a little and no other editing.
In the Flickr set a couple of others, IMGP42260 was taken with K series 50mm and 45mm extension tubes, IMGP42264 with A 50mm and same 45mm extension tubes. The f1.7 lens probably got the best shots, but very little difference. Difference in coloring when I switched to the 135mm surprised me...same lighting, same flash, f11, coloring very different..
