Not done much macro lately, it's been rather wet and windy, but caught these the other day

Nicely done Mohammed. TFS

I'm going to attempt a morning shoot tomorrow. Maybe I'll see that other bug I got today but completely out of focus.

Nice beetle, photolady, here's another fly-guy. It looks like a syrphid.

Sculptor we get them when we can. TFS

Weevil.....600mm ? Good on you. TFS

Went out this morning the only thing around bug/insect wise were grasshoppers and Red Shouldered bugs. I got the grasshopper in a full frontal view.

Thanks, I enjoy taking them and sharing is a nice bonus
I suppose I should learn the names of some of them but it's not that important to me. Here's a butterfly I chased around my garden trying to catch it in a good pose

The Melissodes (long-horned bees) are always entertaining. Look closely in flowers, you may find the males sleeping. Other ones huddle (cuddle) together on branches for unknown reasons to sleep together.

I think that's a Sphex wasp. I've posted a few to bug guide and got good IDs. They're big and colorful!

Had some good luck bug hunting this morning. Found a new spot along the river that seems to have a good diversity of plants and insects. The white spots all over this heteropteran make it visually confusing.

Male Ceratina bee really digging in the Chickory.
[IMG][/IMG]

Myzinum Wasp on wild carrot.
[IMG][/IMG]

Shadow Darner on Village Hall.
[IMG][/IMG]

A Jagged Ambush Bug apparently not interested in a Ceratina. Note the tiny wasp in the background.
[IMG][/IMG]

A wee damselfly (Bluet?) displaying. It was raising and lowering its abdomen - I presume this is display.

This mosquito (?) is a deep crop, really stretching the macro lens. DOF was hopelessly shallow.

That's a challenging shot! Maybe a male mosquito?

Yes I am scared of insects, so I tend to stay away...
