Some excellent shots here lately! Pete: yeah, that was my yellow sorrell shot from the Tiny Flowers thread. See - you haven't forgotten everything yet!

Here's a couple more butterflies from the front porch area...

Thanks, Joe - it was a lucky shot since he was really moving around. Saw a Great Purple Hairstreak (I think) in the same location today, but all I got were some OOF p&s shots

paulh - The hairstreak does look good. Not easy to get shots of those guys and very unusual to catch one with open wings. They rarely do that unless it's a really chilly morning and they need to warm up more. I've only gotten one chance at one with open wings.

Got a couplerring this week. and today I played around with my smc-A 50mm F1.7 reversed on the DA18-55WR. Not bad for the first results

Nicely done! Reversed lenses are a really economical way to get quality close up images.

Mayfly

As a fly-fisherman, I'd call it a "Blue-Winged Olive" but I'm really not sure about the species (and don't do Latin ;~).

It's not a great macro but, as one of the founders of the Gywnns Falls Watershed Association, I was pretty excited to find it on my patio door this morning because (unless it blew in from Montana) it's indicative of fairly good water quality in our somewhat abused urban stream.

Nice find there, Dave.

FWIW, this thread wasn't created for just macro, so just insects are fine too.

Of course there is the Macro thread and the one created by Tanner (aka Yeatzee):

Macro by any means necessary:

Thanks
Actually I was quite surprised to get such good quality, especially with a cheap zoom like the DA 18-55WR (don`t get me wrong here, it is a good lens)
So I just ordered another to put the A50 on the tamron 90mm

Right, I subscribe to both those threads but rarely have anything that approaches their prevailing at standards.

@TenZ.NL - awesome work!

Here are a couple I shot today...

This one here was a huge crop-in, about 85% of the photo was cropped out - this guy was not letting me get close to his food...
