This is the wasp of a different color. It only strings purple or green horses.

The marsh fritillary is close to extinction in Denmark, so I was very happy to find a bunch of emerging ones this May. (Well, I was given GPS coordinates, so it wasn't pure luck!)

Got lucky today at Kloofendal Nature Reserve, and I think the strong wind blew this stick insect into the grass right in front of me. Or else it was just attracted to me, my deodorant or something else . Difficult to capture with the strong winds, poor thing was holding on for dear life. Held the blade of grass still with one hand and shoot with the other. Not exactly the most comfortable way to shoot. K-30 with the Tamron 70-300 coupled with the Raynox 150.

And closer view

Triepeolus distinctus, a Cuckoo Bee. A good find during the Dixon Bioblitz.
