Got a few Dragons in flight the other day
Good work on those. The dragon below gave me just about my only success. It was patrolling around a small plot of open water and pausing to hover near a little footbridge I was on. Side view would have been better, but I'll accept the opportunities that come.

This bug looks as if it had evolved to be camouflaged against the man-made background.

Bees in flight! I've found bees tobe amongst the trickiest macro subjects to shoot well. This is a nice one!

I was going through some older photos and found this. Couldn't figure it out at first until I looked at some others in with it. The fly was on a solid white azalea bloom.

My indebtedness with you is getting bigger and bigger, with all this info you are supplying. Maybe I should stop posting here, before the Invoice arrives . Thank you so much. Had no idea what it was.

The same applies to this one.
Nice one Noel! Looking at your insect I see that it's a True Bug (Order Hemiptera) and like MetteHHH's, it's a Seed Bug (Family Lygaeidae). After a quick search on iNaturalist filtering on "Seed Bugs" and "South Africa", I find among the observations what appears to your insect species, Oncopeltus famelicus. Below is a link with photos:

Butterflies on rocks exposed during low tide on Hawaii. It isn't water they're after, as there is plenty of freshwater available inland, so it's either salt or they are feeding on something
