A great-spangled fritillary, which I've always thought about the handsomest butterfly in my area.

That is a really interesting little beetle. Looks like a weevil although the snout is quite short. We are really living in the Age of Beetles, considering their mind-boggling diversity and incomprehensible numbers.

Oh, and this is a Florida mantis.

Looks like an ichneumon wasp of some sort.

That little wasp looks something like a hylaeus bee, might be worth investigating.

Bug guide is a great site for helping with this, you can submit images for an ID request.

That is a very interesting fly. Looks like an ephemeropteran, but not quite like the species I see here.

Nice set of three tsakatsaka. It will be a couple months before the insects show up here, unless we have an outburst of springtails (AKA "snow fleas").
This dragonfly is from last spring.
