Nice captures Toy and glad to see you back here posting.

These wasps (forest yellow jackets I believe) will hover over this shallow puddle on a rock and land without breaking the service tension, water skipper style. Pretty cool. The other insects like the honey bee need to land, walk up to the edge and drink.

Found lying on the sun room floor. CPR was ineffective, so I did an image stack. Width across the eyes is maybe two millimeters.

Here's an ambush bug and a leaf hopper nymph. Shot using the same reversed 8mm D mount movie camera lens as these were.https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/122-lens-clubs/143202-macro-any-means-nec...ml#post3704666

Nice captures there Thagomizer. And thanks for joining us. That first one looks like a cross between a lizard and a bug. It's mouth resembles some lizards I've seen. Nice though!

The rest of you guys are doing great, keep them coming.

The only bugs I've seen lately, dragons flying too fast and the Gulf Fritillary I missed today.

Thanks! I've had a lot of fun with this little lens. The K-S2's flip screen (along with focus peaking) makes shooting bugs a lot easier than it otherwise would be. Short working distance means I'm limited to those bugs that will tolerate the camera's presence for at least as long as it takes me to find focus and shoot. Under the circumstances, composition is often a matter of luck.

getting its feet wet

DFA100 + Kenko1.5 TC - this combination is great for getting shots like this, the extra distance makes a lot of difference.
