Somebody will be able to identify these Rose leaf eaters. Should I get rid of them or let them carry on munching? A quick check on the internet seems to identify them as sawfly larvae.

Yes I confirm they are sawflies larvae...

It's most visible at the junction of the thorax and abdomen. If you click over to flickr, I've added a note to show them. If you then click on the photo to see it larger, it's pretty clear. It looks like there might be some even at the front of the thorax (near the head) too.

OK I see them now, and yes they are mites. Mites also transmit a disease that kills lots of bees...

A butterfly - probably a red admiral - that was walking on the inside of our sun room. Posted a different image earlier. I shooed it out afterward.
