Thanks Photolady. I thought it was a ladybug initially, but the blue/black colouration made me change my mind.

Cool little bee on the yellow aster-type, probably a Megachile (leaf-cutter) of some sort. We have some here which look similar.

You're really working that Raynox Noel. Good job and thanks for keeping this thread alive.
It's winter here and no decent insect would dare show up, as temps dip into the lower temps. Not as cold as up north but when we're used to 70s to 80's weather, 50s to 60s can seem a bit too cold.

I shot the one below with the Tamron SP 90mm f2.8 @f11 using the bolt ring flash on light setting.



There were several in the house and I still don't know how they got in or where they got in.
