A few more from Niagara Falls. K-5 and DA*60-250.
I think we may have stopped into that butterfly zoo briefly during a visit to Niagara Falls (film era). It's the sort of thing I would advocate doing, but the rest of the family might not be as enthusiastic.

It's awesome for photographers, but you're right, you don't want to go with non-photographers. You also aren't supposed to take a tripod, but they allowed me to use mine as a monopod. I just wasn't allowed to spread the legs out

Same with Bird Kingdom. You need to go with other photographers if you want company. The time I went with my grandkids I got two shots.

IN Niagara Falls, if you park at Duffering Islands (for free) and walk down to the falls, you'll probably see 15 species if not more along the river on the way to the falls.

I still can't believe I didn'tt get back there. I had a free place to stay in Niagara Falls with my step son, for 8 years, and we stayed there at least 2 weeks a year. I went once with the K-3 and 60-250, and never went back. Since then I acquired the a K-3 a K-1, A Tamorn 300 2.8, the 1.7x TC, the 1.4 TC, and my DA*200, and I never went back with better equipment. It was always on the list, I just never got to it.

I was taken to Niagara Falls by my parents probably before I was ten years old. There was an old museum there, multi-floors with an open area in the center and balcony-displays. Smelly, dusty, dark wood display cases that were poorly lit, but they had some interesting things such as various barrels people had ridden over the falls. I remember distinctly a large rubber-ball that someone rode over the falls. Made with an iron framework which was covered by rubber that I think could be inflated (tire tubes??). It was quite battered and crushed.

Two from this morning, hangers-on from the night before, I'm guessing.

A beetle (?) of some kind, I think.

A shield bug?

I went out today and a butterfly was caught in a web of a spider that annoys me. Spider wasn't about to do anything with it still struggling so I released it.
It fluttered to the ground but wasn't able to fly with a bunch of stuff and part of the wing balled up. I took out the scissors and cut of the ball and it flew away. The spider wasn't happy as his web was destroyed and he was launched up to the top of the house.

How about some love for our 14 legged friends? Never mind they are making their own love.

Another kill caught.

Been trying for a month to get one of these. I think they are part of a secret society by the costume it wears. Its a grapeleaf skeletonizer.

and another friendly neighbor dragonfly.

Beatrix Potter, in "The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse," delightfully refers to sow-pill bugs (wood lice) as "creepy-crawly people."

The butterfly I performed surgery on found love later in the day.

A few feet away more. My backyard is worse than Bourbon Street.

This new development is unwelcome.

My buddies are still around.

Hadn't seen katydid in a couple days. Thought the big anole that was in that spot had found her.
