Originally posted by WPRESTO I think we may have stopped into that butterfly zoo briefly during a visit to Niagara Falls (film era). It's the sort of thing I would advocate doing, but the rest of the family might not be as enthusiastic.
It's awesome for photographers, but you're right, you don't want to go with non-photographers. You also aren't supposed to take a tripod, but they allowed me to use mine as a monopod. I just wasn't allowed to spread the legs out
Same with Bird Kingdom. You need to go with other photographers if you want company. The time I went with my grandkids I got two shots.
IN Niagara Falls, if you park at Duffering Islands (for free) and walk down to the falls, you'll probably see 15 species if not more along the river on the way to the falls.
I still can't believe I didn'tt get back there. I had a free place to stay in Niagara Falls with my step son, for 8 years, and we stayed there at least 2 weeks a year. I went once with the K-3 and 60-250, and never went back. Since then I acquired the a K-3 a K-1, A Tamorn 300 2.8, the 1.7x TC, the 1.4 TC, and my DA*200, and I never went back with better equipment. It was always on the list, I just never got to it.
