Got some shots of a large grasshopper that seemed unusually tolerant of my presence. On seeing the photos, I noticed it had quite a number of injuries to it's head and thorax. They show up as rusty brown marks.It looks like they might be healing. (Cross posted to "Macro by any means necessary" and "Kit Lens Club.")

Came across-presumably-a pair of courting Bumble bees, had the Tammy 70-300mm lens, and I should have switched to the 50-200mm kit lens, as its a bit faster for this kind of thing. So not what I had hoped, but still interesting behavior to watch, and have seen this before.

agreed very cool.

a wasp and a butterfly. saw about 10 butterflys fly over the yard but none lingered. I also have about 3 saddlebag dragonflys the roam at roof level. Maybe one day.

That is ambush mode. It struck at a bee just before but it wasn't quite in its range.
It's the cobra of bugs for striking.

This guy has been around all summer despite having several run ins with the cat. Missing a leg but still gets around.
