Weird caterpillar I noticed this morning, Tamron 52BB and cropped. I presume it is a caterpillar!

Great pic!! Fascinating looking critter - short blonde hairs, longer black hairs, and a set of four bristle brushes!!

it's a species of Tussock moths i.e. in the Lymantriinae (Erebidae) families

Well done! I know from experience how difficult it is to get close to a tiger beetle to obtain good detail in a macro image. They are very alert, very active, and very quick to scurry or fly away if they detect movement.

X-posted image, a multi-image stack of a hornet found dead out on the deck below a hornet nest. Probably a male killed in battle with rival males - Cain & Abel to the max.
