Crane Fly. Taken from the inside of a not so clean window. I cleaned up some of the worst specks with clone stamp, but it got to be a daunting task.

If you.re not familiar with this ant behavior, they tend the aphids, protect them, move them place to place, then "milk" them for a sweet fluid the aphids make from the plant sap they suck up.

Both shots are good, but just like WPPRESTO I really like the second weird one. Because it is smaller than the preying mantis the depth of field has worked to put most of the insect into focus: really good macro image!

thanks!! yeh it would have been nice to get all the mantis but i will claim it's a portrait giving it more character!
