Went back to some image files from 2013 and reworked these two a little. Both were dead insects that took considerable pre-photo cleaning and PP cloning to get rid of the dust off their eyes.

Here's an unusual little moth. Sorry if it looks a bit soft. The flower is a Daisy Fleabane, a very small Aster family plant. Flowers are about 1cm across, including petals. A little breeze makes it difficult!
Alan and I had never seen one of these, they're pretty unusual critters.





And here's a busy girl. A Hoplitis genus bee. I've never been able to get great photos - as soon as they leave the tubular flowers they seem to favor, they take off at full speed. This was pure good timing luck on my part.

I almost mistook those two opposing butterflies for petals at first glance - top image!!!
