Very fine images, Walt!
Thanks Roger. That's fine set of three that you posted. I like the second and third images in particular.

Two images of a wasp that needed a bit more DOF. and a fly that would not turn face-to-face, so I shot him in the back.

And a hopper. Sometimes bypassed as a subject because they are so common (at the moment)

Éphémère de ruisseau photographiée sur un cadre de porte. / Stream Mayfly captured on a door frame.

Note: species incerta / Uncertain species
According to iNaturalist it's pretty sure that the species is:

Maccaffertium modestum
Fam. Heptageniidae
Order Ephemeroptera

Heptagénie modeste / Modest Flat-Headed Mayfly [Maccaffertium modestum] sp. inc., Fam. Heptageniidae

Even with a narrower f-stop, it's hard to get around physics with that framing of the subject. For our camera club competitions, it's easy to tell the judges that don't shoot macro! Never enought DOF, or not enough detail if one backs up to get the DOF!

And there I thought you are the nicest guy in the world- wouldn't, harm a fly- and then you shoot it in the back. Tch, what is the world coming to?

Well camouflaged locust

I can tolerate insects doing many things, but not interfering with my photo-life

Thank you kindly. Not too shabby for a 20 year-old, 6.3MP camera, albeit paired with great EX glass. I love shooting this combo.
