M85 f2

.

These are both from the M85 f/2 & K20D - first is a cropped, out of camera jpeg, second is a straight DNG raw conversion, neither have any PP (besides crop in first image) :

Scotch thistle . K-7 with Sigma 70-200mm 1:2.8 II Macro HSM. Conversion from PEF to Jpeg and resized only. Perhaps it could be sharpened but it looks dangerous enough as it is.

Thanks for this thread! Love the contributions coming in. Here's a recent shot that fits the bill. I love the slightly desaturated tones I get with the Rokinon 85 f/1.4. This is at f/2.2 with the exposure bumped up +0.7 EV to keep the shadows at bay. PEF to JPG via Aperture.

When God does all the work, all we have to do is press the button.

All of these are K-5 with DA 18-135. Cropped and sized for web.

So pleased to have been told of this thread. I was beginning to despair of seeing a "normal" photo again. This is where one separates the men from the boys as far as the original picture is concerned. This is a post from a "new" Yashica Lynx I just bought, with a 1.4 lens. The light meter amazingly still worked even with a couple of 1.5 volt batteries in it. However, most of my shots showed about a stop over exposure. This one on Fuji 400 is straight off the scan.

Nothing but crop and resize, taken yesterday evening. Also posted in POTW. These were taken with K 30 and Lentar 135mm M42 mounted on a tripod, pre focused, with flash and remote. I was surprised how well 180 shutter speed and flash did...

Straight from the camera, not even a crop. A Retina 1b (1955) with a 2.8 50mm Sneider Zenar lens. Just received off eBay. Sent away for service after this.

Here are two from my Single in July challenge. I just got an $8.00 Super-Tak 105/2.8 at GW that I'm putting thru its paces. Has some great color rendering and contrast:

Lovely rendition there. My picture is with a far more humble lens on a 1958 View Finder Retinette with a 3 element lens. Still, it is remarkable what can be got from a simple lens.

These could use a little leveling, but then I couldn't post them here!
