NO Post Processing!

It is amazing what can be done with images during post processing, but I want to see what can be done straight from the camera. So, post your favorite "straight out of the camera" shots here! Let's see what a camera, lens, and photographer can do without software.

OK, I suppose resizing is probably necessary, and maybe a crop, but that's it. No noise reduction, no bringing up the shadows, no white-balance tweaking, no brightening/softening/sharpening/adding contrast, etc. If you catch yourself saying "I only did a little _______, but it's basically straight from the camera", that's too much!

If you can include your camera, lens, and any other settings/equipment (filter, flash, etc.), that would very helpful and informative to the viewers. I'll start with a simple sunset.

K20, M50/1.4, ISO200, 1/640, Tiffen UV filter (manual aperture not recorded and I've forgotten)

I'm sure most of you have something better. Let's see them!

Exactly what I was hoping to see. Love that so much detail in the white flowers is visible even with the dark background. And it's nice to know that it wasn't acomplished with finagling on the computer.

And with the camera/lans combo on my 'wish list' to boot!

Looking forward to seeing more! I know from other threads that everyone has their 'straight out of the camera' shots they are proud of.

Monarch from a few days ago taken with my binocular lens macro rig. Pentax A 50mm no flash, only software assistance was the crop and resize. probably 90% of the shots I post on here have no processing, just crop and resize, a few need a little help in the contrast department, 1 out of 20 or so get a little sharpening, that's it.Usually it's straight off the camera like this one. IN the past couple of weeks I've gotten several that needed a bit of help, more than usual, but normally it's as little as I can get by with. I always try for the best I can get without using software except for crop and resize.

Same for this Aster. It's slightly bigger than a dime, same rig, only cropped and resized. Taken Sept 29.

Took this one earlier this year from a Washington State Ferry, K100D and a basic consumer-grade 70-300 zoom... No post other than resizing it and slapping a caption on it It was a little soft out of the camera, but it seemed to suit the mood so I left it that way. ISO 200, 1/160s, f/13, SR on, handheld.

Copper Evening The only PP is resizing and my copyright. Took this shot a few days ago in the evening after hours of rain. The sunset was illuminating the clouds through a thin bank of cloud, and there was a strange effect on all colors. This was my favorite of the series. Shot with K200D, 18-55mm kit lens, UV filter, hand-held, f/4.5, 1/15 sec.

Thanks to everyone so far, I find this really instructive. For example, it's nice to know that those rich clear & crisp colors can come straight from a FA* lens (rob1234). On most other lens or sample photo threads, you never know what is coming from the camera/lens and what is coming from the post skills of the shooter. BTW, loved the bench picture fromthe same ruin as well! And Pete, it's interesting to know your general approach, so when I see your work in other places that it's minimal post or even ooc. And what beautiful gentle handling of the delicate subject matter. Tamia & RoxnDox, looks like when God provides the perfect setting, there's really nothing else that needs to be done. And dunerunner, being a dog person, I absolutely love the moment of your capture. If one were to create photo-definition of 'true happiness', your pups would be prime candidates!

Can't wait to see more!

Taken a few months ago, uploaded it again just for this thread. Bluejay sitting on a park fence, only gtot 3 shots because I had traffic coming and had to move. But this one came out nice. Crop and resize only. Only thing I don't like is I could not get all of the light pole on the right out of the picture no matter how I tried. To get the right size and ratio a little of it had to be there. Vivitar 200mm M42 lens.

Soon as I get a little time I got another one a few days ago I think might be good here, I'll have to look at it some more though and see if it's good enough to show off.

Tamia and jheu02 - Good stuff as usual.

Yank - the deer looks very good.

K-5 w/ Tamron 10-24 @~11mm. ISO1600, f4.5, 1/15sec. Resized and slightly cropped.

(The white spots are "snow", and it looks like one landed on the lens.)

I've been LOVING the K5 this Christmas season with all the lights & fireworks!
