OK Racer, how do you know? :-)

(My uncle used to have hand-crank tractor when I was a kid. I seem to remember they weren't easy to start on a cold morning.)

I have had to hand crank old tractors. Fortunately smaller ones, like a Farmall Cub, but still, it will make scrawny arms buff in a hurry.

Thanks Dave. We weren't at any risk, but Di's family come from Bunyip which was threatened. It got to within a couple of kms of her brother's place and her mum was evacuated with the other residents of the aged care home. But everyone's OK, the aged care residents are back, and there's been a decent soaking of rain today. But many people have lost homes, farms and animals.

Sounds like California.

After all those years of rumors that it was going to fall into the Pacific in a massive earthquake now it looks like it will simply burn away to nothing.

Bottomland field along the upper Spoon River, in Knox County, Illinois. From the look of the stubble, it grew soybeans last year. Too early to plant right now, and probably too wet as well.

K-R + Promaster AF Aspherical f/3.5-5.6 28-80mm, at or near wide-open.
