Ok, so I was showing my neighbour the pictures of her chookies and she was very amused when I told her how much everyone here admired her Rooster:

Apparently it's not a rooster, but actually a hen... I mean, we knew that right?

For those interested the breed is "a Wyandotte but with a straight comb from the introduction of Rhode Island Red a few generations back to get the red feathers."

*nods wisely*

Heck, a pretty chicken, is a pretty chicken. That's what I say! *gnaws on drumstick*
funny

Nice one, Tom. This shot barely qualifies being in this thread - I *think* it was a barn once upon a time...

I don't think I would explore it in the dark. If the barn doesn't fall on you, you could walk off the very edge of the earth!

At the very least you'd be getting pretty wet - I shot this from across a pretty strong-flowing creek. Yep, I'd be afraid to exhale inside that place!

Had a great sky with dark clouds all day as I drove through central Texas hill country searching for a windmill - only one I found was beside an abandoned barn!

speaking of windmills....this one is functional, but only serves as a decoration on Main Street.

On the way to work the other morning. A lovely mist was hugging the hillside while the sun started making inroads and breaking through

Gorgeous.
Isn't morning light just wonderful?

Last July, I passed by this field one day at about 5pm. I wish I could've been there for the early morning / later evening light, too:
