Excellent! I am looking forward to winter this year here in MD, I have actually purchased some specific lenses just for snowy shots this year...
Thanks, The round bales shot was helped by heavy snow coming down, no reflections off the snow.

Nowhere Matt, Great shots out of nowhere!

I love the hay bail shot. It's hard to find good scenic winter shots here in Ohio.
Tim
Thanks Tim, Both of those shots were taken when I headed out into the falling snow. We ca go weeks without it though, which is OK by me.

Great idea for a thread! These were taken in March at Nash Farm, a 150 yr old working farm they are restoring. Nowadays it's mostly used for parties, and seasonal event gatherings.
What's with the house, a little farm in the front yard?

Nice, that old equipment is disappearing fast, good shots!

Wolfiegirl, nice shots from the drive, you may have to carry this for a few months, it's getting cold up here in the northern hemisphere! I gotta start looking for livestock!

Hey Ramsbuckeye,

Thanks for the nice comments. It's getting onto summer here (although looking at the temps you wouldn't believe it). I live in a farming community pretty much smack dab Nowhere.

As to finding something to shoot, I'm sure there's an obliging cow somewhere willing to step out into the the cold for a chance to get their glorified 5 mins of fame from you?

That's just a small garden next to the restored farmhouse. The 'real' farm field is further out, tho it's not that big. Over the years, the town has grown around the farm, and nowadays it's used mostly for seasonal events and school field trips, etc. Here's a couple more:

another shot of the small garden by the house:

Beautiful light in the first shot, wolfiegirl. However you might want to clean your sensor, I see some spots in the second.

Thanks jmschrei! Yeah I had to pull over when I saw the light.. thank goodness I was on my own. I can imagine hubby's face if I'd insisted we stop just so I could take a photo that took advantage of the light

Ack! I didn't see those spots last night - assumed it was the bubbling from the botch job I did on the laptop anti glare sticker. Thanks for the heads up!

Paul, sounds pretty cools, I'm surprised there aren't little kids all over that tractor sitting in the grass

You should be! I'm glad you stopped to get that light, that first one's a killer!

Jools, I like the B&W, looks like you stepped into the 1950s or 60s. I haven't ssen any milk cans like that for a while, except for the one's people use foe rustic decor. I love the cows, great shot.

We have a large Amish community about an hour away, I drove through there yesterday:

Some nice stuff being posted here. These are some previously-posted shots (mostly to m-club) with the M50/1.7

Just going through some old pictures and came across this.

It was taken through the car window, so please forgive the blurriness at the edges. We were driving down a country lane through the Tasmanian Wilds, this time last year and was met with this. It's not one of my best, but there's something about it that I like.

k100d, 50-200 DA kit lens. Taken at 160mm ISO 400, 1/1500
