Thematic Flickr Explored

Another one yesterday - as I say, Scotland has always been good for explores for me - so 5,400 (and counting) people have seen the title "rarer than a rainbow - the Pentax K-1 draws the attention of an admiring herd of cows" - not that the majority speak English or even read the title

Probably my highest 'like' to 'view' ratio yet, though I don't know whether that's a reflection on cows. rainbows or juxtapositions - I like to think the latter

Just got notified by a follower in Flickr that not one, but TWO of the photos I posted last night about Denis Shapovalov, the young canadian tennis wonder that defeated , amongst others, Rafael Nadal at Rogers Cup in Montréal, just hit Explore...

Fist time I ever get 2 photos selected on the same day! I didn't thought it was possible (??!!)

(I had to go directly to the Explore page to count the ranking because Scout wouldn't see it at this moment...)

I am surprised!, But maybe not that much.... there is probably a strong buzz around this guy right now, that should have contributed to the Explore selection...

This one made it into Explore yesterday. As usual not a photo I thought too much of. ISO 1600, f5.6 with the DA*60-250 on the K-1 and cropped pretty good.

It's a friendly (humorous) group for macro photogs. People who shoot a lot of macros know that often, when a critter is moderately nervous about your presence, it will turn in order to have the clearest, most direct escape path available to it. That would be facing directly away from you. Which in turn means that what you get to shoot - instead of the marvelous frontal shot of composite eyes you had in mind - is a bug butt. Macro photogs wind up shooting many of these!

This group gives a place for those shots (and to commiserate with other macro photogs)...
