Ok, so the exposure in Explore often yields invites into groups. Sometimes appropriate for the photo, sometimes...not. This one was invited into a large group that's been active for 7 years. 92% of its photos have bare lady boobs or derrieres in them, the other 8% are random subject matter (ferris wheels, dogs, landscapes, etc)*, all are well done images. I guess I don't really get the point, as this group doesn't appear to be advertising anything I can see** so it doesn't seem like the usual spam. What is the point of inviting a few seemingly random images to hang out among all the nekked ladies? Any insight?

*These percents are accurate, I drearily tallied the subject matter of over 60k photos in the pool.
**I scrutinized it very carefully.

Haha, yeah occasionally I get an invite to a weird group (from Explore exposure). Tbh I ignore most if not all of those invites, choosing instead to vet a group out before hand and make sure it's somewhat appropriate.

Congrats again, wonderful image.

My last Explore got me the most amount of views I've ever had by a loooong shot. But this one probably spend something like 10 minutes at #490 and got less than one thousand views... Ah well - still Explored! No weird group invitations yet...

EDIT: Oh Hai! Back on later in the day at #443... Waddya know. I thought once dropped it was game over.

This one got picked up by Explore yesterday, funny because it was only 11 days earlier I got a very similar shot selected for Explore as well (same scene, different lens)...

So this one was picked yesterday;

Velvet 56 Falls (#140)

And this one on the 10th January;
Sol 45 Falls (#245)

Maybe Explore is biased towards Lensbaby lenses

Must have been an unusually large cull this morning; this one started at #415, dropped to #441, then leapt up to #357.

70k views without Explore?!

Well, here's a conundrum... My Flickr stats tell me there were over 70k views on my photos on Jan 24th. Yet I had no shot on Explore that day. If I look at my detailed stats for that day, no photo had more than 380 views, yet about 250 photos had over 150 views. My photostream had a single visit on that day. (On a normal day, maybe one of my photos gets over 100 views...)

Anyone got any idea what this could be? Some bot maybe, but what's the point? Anyone ever see something similar?

EDIT: It occurs to me someone might have been trying a DDOS attack on Flickr...?? But then others would have a spike in their stats on that day...

I see the same kind of bumps periodically; I assume it is some kind of indexing bot.
