Yet despite posting loads of photos, my lens has never been Explored (I've had 25 different lenses Explored). And aside from Explores, the lens/album has had far fewer views than my two other macros - the F100 and Macro-Takumar.

It has become a bit of an obsession to try and redress this balance. Over the past 18 months I've been trying hard to post attractive macros, flower shots, urban scenes etc., but all to no avail. No Explores and not many views.

So I was delighted when this photo below was Explored yesterday. It was taken on a frosty morning's walk to work, and ironically was a quick snap after spending more time attempting to capture a "perfect" frost-on-flowers macro. The photo stayed in the top 50 for a few hours and attracted over 30,000 views on the day; a record for me and a result that made all the previous efforts with this lens more worthwhile.
Thanks, and photos like "Bench and Fence" really deserve recognition. I've never really broke my explored photos down by lens, I'll have to check that out.

Well deserved. I happened to browse Explore a bit yesterday and noticed there were several GGOs.

Thanks baro-nite!
yes, since last week, there is an invasion in Quebec (almost every day I heard about a new observation record)!
Many friends photographers were selected by Explore for thier GGOs!

Well, this one went completely under my radar!
I had only 1 comment (Thanks to @rgknief60 ! ) and only 26 favs...
but when I looked at my Scout profile (Scout: Curculion) I saw it was ranked at #173 on Dec 11th 2016...
This is my 2nd best rank ever on the 20 images that hit Explore...
It was even not invited to the "In Explore" group... Very weird!

This was a pano merge in Lr6 from 33 vertical shots.

Also note that this was made with very high ISO (10000), and very slow shutter speed (1/20)
.

This has happened to me too recently, with "retrospective Explores" not picked up by In Explore....it's clearly not perfect, not that I'm complaining. And this chess one is a strange one, it's ranked at 56 but it only has 58 faves, compared, for example, to the autumn trees I posted here recently that has 1,266 faves and is ranked some way below.

But the strangest one of all never made it to Expore. It's this one. It's had 17,769 views (definitely in Explore territory), but only 2 faves!!

In the relatively short time I've been on Flickr, I noticed that my images with the most views by far are all from the Voigtlander Nokton 58mm F 1.4 SL II. I try to give technical information for every image and apparently many people are searching for shots from their dream lenses. I have a few more interesting lenses but this seems to be the most attractive.
To keep this on topic : The one exception is a non-Nokton image taken 40 years ago with (presumably) the Super-Takumar 50mm f/2 that was my first on Explore today (I posted a different version on the "Post your B&W Film shots" thread long ago).

Strangely two of my recent photos hit explore today, and they were both taken in the same place, the first one getting more likes with less posts was dropped early.

I don't question why, I do like seeing the work of photographers to which Explore leads me:

This snowflake macro was very briefly explored this morning at #493, but dropped by the time I got up. I wish the algorithm had picked the previous one yesterday instead, but the exposure is always welcomed...

This one taken for Single In was explored today, only peaked at number 296 but officially my most 'interesting' shot according to the flickr gods.

a rather unlikely late entry today - well, I've had more unlikely, but interesting 'choice' - this was one of a series shot blind from waist level on auto with fixed focus and the 31mm Ltd. (K-1) - just mixing it up a bit
