Thematic Flickr Explored

This one just got explored. I frequently wish that other photos of mine that I consider better would get explored rather than the ones that do. Having said that - there are many that get explored that really deserve it. I'm just not sure that this one does!

I captured this image of part of the exterior of the Midland Center for The Arts in Midland, Michigan, with my Lensbaby Sol 45 on my Pentax K-S2 and posted in the Singles in February thread. I processed it in Lightroom 4 and Silver Efex Pro 2. Starting in 2013 I've had 10 photos in Explore. This is my first Explore photo in a long time. I agree with others who have commented that they like some of their non-Explored photos as much or more than their Explored photos.

I think you're not alone in that feeling... happens to me as well.

I whole-heartedly agree.... it's rare that the one that gets picked up for 'explore' is the one I agree with.....

Just discovered this thread, I had these pictures on explore some years ago. It was crazy to suddenly get so many views!

The first shot I had on Explore - I did not know that explore was a thing; it was a shot that I liked, so I was happy and just figured it was by chance (and the subject - an iconic NYC Bridge at night)... I think I figured out what Explore was on my second Explored image - which I liked, but it was odd for it to get so many views without reason.

To add to the conundrum that is Explore, this was Explored overnight:

While I like the shot, and the reason behind the shot (which is a personal note I've yet to reveal in any of our communities), it is a rather normal photograph... Nothing out of the ordinary. I am glad it was Explored, as the photo is a reminder of a good personal event.
