This one surprised me, not explore as much as how far away the kingfisher was, until I looked through the viewfinder I did not know what kind of bird it was for sure. It flew into the tree while I was watching a pair of mallards that normally fly away if I appear. It's odd, I've only saw belted kingfishers in the last month, and this is the third one, one of the other I see nearly every time down a certain road through a swamp. I saw one several years ago but only had the 18-135 on the camera which was way to short. A bird that eluded me for years.
This one is cropped a lot, taken with the DA 55-300 and DA 1.4 converter on K-50. Not really much detail in it, just too far away. But I like the bokeh, really a little nicer on the 55-300 than the DA*300 for distant shots.
