Challenge 63

Thank you everyone for the feedback on my picture in Challenge 62 and thank you wolfiegirl for hosting it! Here is my challenge for the week and I apologize for the slight delay in announcing it (school's firewall blocked MediaFire...).

I took this picture back in September and originally I had a vision for making something cool with it, but I lost my creative touch. This is where I need your help!

As always, the goal is come up with the most compelling version you can of the image, so long as the final image is in fact based on this one.

Here are the links to the RAW and jpeg files. Contest will close at the end of Febrauary 23 (GMT).

Raw:Challenge_63_Raw

JPEG:Challenge_63_JPEG

Winner gets to host the next challenge! Enjoy!

Thanks,
Mike

Re: Challenge 63

Here is what I came up with.... some tonal compression and sharpening, cropping and removal of a distracting element.

I really liked the way the sky looked in the image. Tried to make that the focal point, I think the leading lines of the railing really help draw the attention to the sky.

This is my take on the photo... of course this is also my 1st posting, so hopefully I'm doing this all correctly.

Great shot!

Here come's harder crop and a bit more filmatic drama (someone's gonna need an umbrella very soon...).

Decided to make the lady the subject and emphasize the curve of the rail and the height of the light towers by a portrait orientation and major crop! Pretty amazing how much detail survived from this photo after the severe crop. I may do this to my own photos more often.
Done with Pentax DCU.

A Touch of Colour

Some excellent inspiration so far. Here is my effort taking a 'minimalist' approach.
