A very old dam recently refurbish almost to the extent of rebuilding. There was a prolonged debate between advocates of removing all dams to let streams be natural, and those who use the quiet, deep water backed up by this dam for all forms of recreation. I'm glad the dam was repaired, otherwise a huge amount of wetland would have been lost.
