Reminds me of a local apartment block, where the roof downspouts dump directly onto the exterior stairways. Must be fun -- not! -- during our rainy season!

I definitely took more than one! That one was just my favorite of that perspective. I also did some ND filter long exposures, fisheye shots, and even some wildlife. The light was variable so the best shots were when it was just right.

This river has been confined and probably routed by human construction. As it approaches a bridge it is moving smooth and fast. Just under the bridge a man-made ridge perpendicular to the current, throws the river in large ripples and turbulence. The ridge, akin to the spillway of a dam, maintains smooth water upstream.

A thundering waterfall right beside the train tracks. Enough of an attraction that a viewing platform was constructed and the trains stop here briefly for no other reason than to allow tourists to get off and take a picture. BTW: really dull, dense overcast on this day. If you look carefully there are almost no shadows.

Not the most spectacular waterfall in British Columbia, but this was a refreshing 20 minute hike downhill (including photography breaks) from the Trans-Canada Highway in Glacier National Park and fit right in with our travel plans last week.

You know you're someplace special when a waterfall such as this isn't a top destination!

A humbler stream in western North Carolina:

One from earlier in the week. (x-post) I used my Fuji gear for this which I also use some Pentax lenses with but not for this shot.

A gentle waterfall hidden in a corner of an urban park.

This picture was taken shortly after a rainfall as the sun was peeking out from the clouds.

British Columbia is a big province (roughly the size of France, Germany and the Netherlands combined) and 75% of it is mountain terrain. Much/most of the province is inaccessible to everyone who can't afford to charter a helicopter or airplane, but that still leaves at least a half dozen waterfalls more spectacular than Bear Creek Falls that are accessible to tourists. But I didn't get close to any of them on this trip. Thanks for commenting!

Cullasaja Falls. Dense tree cover really limits the possible viewpoints of this unusual waterfall:
