Looks like extraordinary wild country.

The dramatic sandstone escarpments in central and southern New South Wales, Australia, produce spectacular waterfalls.
Excellent composition in beautiful soft light.

This is the Linville River (North Carolina) running through the chute that leads to the main part of Linville Falls:

Here's another chute, with a natural bridge (walking across is NOT allowed).

A similar image. The camera always reveals patterns that cannot be seen directly in fountains such as this.

I would be the last to claim that cameras invariably record more & better than our direct experience. Landscapes are almost always diminished in an image. But the eye cannot see the shapes generated by a drop rebounding & splattering when it hits a watery surface, and image stacking reveals insects in a way that viewing with a microscope cannot. Direct viewing through the largest astronomic telescopes reveals only the tiniest fraction of what is recorded by long exposures or multiple-stacked images. Sometimes - not always - image sensors are better.

Fun patterns, and awesome waterfalls in the Rockies. On a much smaller scale, here's an interesting little falls in western North Carolina (Pothole Falls in the Panthertown Valley). Took a bit of work to get to. Shot on Portra 160 with the Rokinon 24mm tilt/shift. f/11, 1/4s.
